SALVATION ARMY – HENNEPIN AND RAMSEY COUNTIES:

Open during regular business hours, typically 8 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday. Water will be provided. Individuals should call ahead of time to determine if a location is open or not.

NOTE: The Harbor Lights Cooling Center is open to families and will have extended hours.

Seven Salvation Army locations are open during regular business hours for those needing a cool place. Air conditioning and water are provided.

RAMSEY COUNTY:

Ramsey County has created an interactive map of locations that can be used to cool off.  In general, it is a mix of libraries, beaches/pools, and recreation centers. Hours vary by location; individuals should call ahead or visit the facility’s website to confirm hours. Some locations may have fees for use.

HENNEPIN COUNTY:

Hennepin County Public Health has an interactive map to help residents find public places to escape the heat throughout Hennepin County. Maps are available for desktop and mobile devices. People can make the map close and personal by zooming in on a specific neighborhood; users can then click on individual cooling locations for an address, days and hours of operation, contact information and a website link, when possible.

SOUTHERN

OLMSTED COUNTY:

The Salvation Army Social Services Center is Rochester is open at 115 1st Avenue NE Rochester, MN 55906. 8 am – 4 pm Monday – Friday. Drinking water and public restrooms are open, along with an air-conditioned day center. As many as 150 people can in the center at a time, and all are welcome to have the daily meal the Salvation Army serves 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. Call (507)288-3663 for more information.
